Frequently Asked Questions About Coaching
Q. What Is A Coaching Session Like?
My private coaching sessions are tailored to each client within the program you sign up for. At the start of the coaching session, we may do a short grounding exercise/meditation to help you feel more present and connected in your body. I have a toolbox of coaching exercises that I use during each session based on the module we are working on. We may go through each module of the program linearly or not, depending on your progress or needs. A key to coaching is the use of powerful questions that further more thought and deeper exploration. We may explore places that you may feel blocked or stuck. We may brainstorm around an issue or decision that needs clarity or deeper understanding before you are able to make a lasting change. Expect deep listening and help to guide you to your intuition and your unique strengths. At the end of each call, I give assignments to work on until the next session. The following session will have a check in about the work or assignments from the previous session so that you can stay on track and focused on moving forward. Clients report more progress working directly with a coach than self-study courses.
Q. Will I Get Advice?
As an ICF Certified Coach, I may offer my insights based on a particular situation if it is relevant to the topic but do not give or offer advice. In my Healing Limerence program, for example, we may need to work through a core issue together that is at the root of the problem first so you can gain more awareness and understanding before you are able to take actions steps forward. The work is about guiding you and helping to explore the possibilities and choices for yourself that you may not yet be able to see, or are hidden because of fear or self-limiting beliefs.
Q. Is Coaching Like Therapy?
Coaching is different from therapy in that the focus is on the present and future planning, rather than focusing on the past. Therapy is very useful for helping to heal from old trauma wounds where you need to go deeper into the past. Coaching includes deep listening in that same way as therapy and may touch on old wounds to understand patterns that are happening now, but the majority of the work is about how to move forward in the present. It’s about tapping into your strengths, values and dreams and taking small, calculated action steps forward. Coaching and therapy can lead to profound personal growth and progress when used together.
Q. Why Can’t I Just Purchase A Coaching Program Directly On Your Website?
Before making an investment in coaching, I want to make sure that we are a good fit for each other. Speaking first in a 30 minute sample session before signing up allows us to get to know each other and decide if we would like to work together.
Q. Do You Work With International Clients?
Yes! I have clients from all over the world. My primary language is English and my time zone is New York (EST).
Q. Do You Work With Men? Do You Work With the LGBTQ+ Community?
Yes, I strive to create a coaching space where you can feel safe and supported and let your authentic self be expressed, seen, appreciated and valued.
Q. Do You Take Insurance?
Unfortunately, coaching isn’t covered by insurance. Coaching is an investment to get support with a present situation as well as an investment in yourself by way of learning new concrete skills and insights that you can take with you through the rest of your life. You will be able to create more space for possibilities that might not yet seem apparent, and problem solve when you feel stuck from a more relaxed, grounded space. You’ll be able to move through difficult life transitions and make tough decisions with more ease and strength. You’ll also be able to help others you care about by teaching them the new skills you learned through coaching. This is a life changing investment in your present day self as well as your future.
Q. What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?
I accept payment through PayPal, Stripe, Zelle and Venmo. I offer discounts when paying for a program in full.
